Once in the glass, this wine displays a garnet clarity in appearance. The aromas are typically Cabernet Franc with touches of wild blackberries, earth, fig, mushroom, and a touch of caramelized sugar. Flavor Profile
From the home page of the “Meritage Alliance”….”Red Meritage wines historically have been among the world’s most highly rated wines. They are prized for their smooth, silky texture and complex, robust structure. While they age beautifully — often for decades — most are also very drinkable in their younger years.” This perfectly describes our 2010 Red Meritage bottling. The flavors are beautifully integrated with each of the four Bordeaux varietals contributing beautifully to the layers of aromas and flavors that make up this gem. The concentrated aromas of red fruit sharing the aromatic stage with deep nuances of French oak Vanilla would indicate a long life ahead. On the palate, this wine is equally concentrated with currant and cassis flavors backed up with spiced, woodsy notes.
Our red Meritage has always been our most popular red wine, and thus has become our flagship wine. We are very sure that the 2010 offering will be received as one of our best…and most delicious.

2009 Tentre - Wine Club Members Reserve print
Flavor Profile
This limited production wine is made especially for, and sold exclusively to, members of our wine club. The inspiration for it came from our harvest crew who found three small lots of uncrushed grapes one year and randomly co-fermented them in a separate vessel. The results were stunning and quite different from our varietal driven wines. The wine was dubbed "Tentre" by them. Winemaker John Sotelo carefully nurtured that tiny lot into the wine available to our member's today. The wine boasts deep berry and ripe black currant aromas with a note of French oak vanilla and butterscotch in the nose. An undercurrent of dried herbs and cocoa dust (very indicative of our terroir) complete the aromatic profile. On the palate this elegant red displays ripe varietal flavors but doesn't stick to one taste profile. This amalgam of three varietals are integrated to the extent that its flavor profile is unique and must be tasted to express. It's finish is dry and lingering while the soft tannins show that it is quite ageworthy. PLEASE ASK A HANNAH NICOLE ASSOCIATE FOR INFORMATION ON PURCHASING THIS WINE.

Flavor Profile
Our Merlot has really hit a stride and the 2010 vintage shows its heritage beautifully. The robe is a soft and velvety deep red with hues of purple just at the brim. The aromas are textbook Merlot with Mulberry, black dried currants noted with nutmeg and allspice from it's extended barrel ageing in French and American oaks. The palate has the lush approachableness that Merlot drinkers favor yet the structure and finish would indicate a good future for cellaring.

ROW 91 "Limited Release" Series - Many of our long time wine club members and other friends of the winery may remember our first “Winery Cat”, Pierre. His presence when we held events and tastings from our home was always special and, when he left us, deeply missed. His final resting place, somewhere along row 91 of our Malbec vineyard is part of the inspiration for this very special and limited bottling. The uniqueness of the fruit that specifically grows on this row qualifies the wine from it to be included in our black label “Reserve” tier. As this is our inaugural release of Malbec, dedicating this bottling to Pierre, seems both fitting and memorable.

CHALK HILL RESERVE "Limited Release" Series - This is quite a special bottling for us. Hailing from the esteemed vineyards of the Chalk Hill area in Sonoma County, this rich and expansive white shows all the hallmarks of a classic in the making. The aromas and flavors remind one of early California Chardonnays that were somewhat hedonistic in their use of barrel fermentation and extended oak ageing. This offering is 100% Barrel fermented with full Malo-Lactic fermentation for the entire bottling.

The results are impressive but with restraint…

2010 Mt. Diablo Reserve Red print
Flavor Profile
The success of our previous Mt. Diablo Syrah Reserve has inspired us to craft a true Rhone style red wine that embodies a beautiful orchestration of fruit, spice and wood notes from our estate grown varietals. This wine deftly marries Petite Sirah, Mourvedre and Grenache with just a touch of Viognier in much the same manner that the French have done for decades. This blend, known as “Brune et Blonde” in the Rhone valley of France, has an elevated aromatic profile thanks to the subtlety of the Viognier while the palate rests beautifully balanced and poised to complement a number of great cuisines.

LOT 116 "Limited Release" Series - Selected from specific rows in the most arid portion of our estate vineyard, this Petite Sirah embodies all the big and bold character that we love about this intense varietal. This small production, limited release wine reflects deeply hued and opaque colors that speak of a long life ahead. Inspired by wines from the Rhone Valley in France, John has crafted a jammy rendition that favors the equally bold flavors found in the rustic cuisine of Provence and the Midi. The limited production of this red adds additional appeal to an already scrumptious wine.
