Nicks winemaking philosophy is that winemaking begins in the vineyard. World-class wine comes from grapevines that have been best cultivated to their terroir. The winemaker needs to be a steward of the land and vineyard; the best fertilizer is the farmer’s footstep. This “berry to bottle” practice is exactly what brought Nick to Hannah Nicole Vineyards. The emphasis on stewardship in the vineyard elevates Hannah Nicole’s wines and beautiful estate.
Nick graduated from the world-renowned winemaking university UC Davis with a degree in Viticulture & Enology. His education continued throughout multiple wineries and vineyards across the world with the goal of learning multiple winemaking practices to better achieve and balance the art and science of winemaking. He honed his skills working in vineyards and wineries in Napa, Sonoma, the Sierra Foothills, New Zealand, South Africa, and Australia. This allowed Nick to achieve the most complete winemaking knowledge possible.
Nicks love and passion can clearly be heard when he’s talking about wine and how he enjoys pairing it with meals, events, and life. He is especially fond of wine pairing with a well put together charcuterie board with multiple cheeses and friends.
