๐ชAbout the Band๐ช
Born and raised in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District, Maximiliano Cortes brings rhythm, soul, and serious grooves to the stage as the leader of the Max Cortes Salsa Band. His love affair with Latin percussion began at 18, sparked by the electrifying sounds of Carlos Santana’s band – and he’s been chasing that rhythm ever since.
Maximiliano is a self-taught conguero with deep roots in the Latin music scene, sharpened by mentorship under legendary percussionist Louie Romero, known for his work with the Willie Colรณn Orchestra in NYC. Over the years, Maximiliano has played as a sideman in countless Salsa Bands, mastering the congas, bongos, and timbales with passion and precision.
In 2019, he stepped into the spotlight and formed his own band, delivering high-energy performances that blend Salsa, Cumbia, and Merengue – a vibrant mix that celebrates the musical traditions of Puerto Rico, Mexico, Central and South America.
Whether he’s driving the beat or leading the charge, Maximiliano’s mission is simple: get people dancing, smiling, and feeling the rhythm in their bones.
